About

I'm Richard, and I build things with Claude for a living. I wrote this so you can do it too. If it works, you'll never need to call me. I can live with that.

Me

I came to software the long way round: spreadsheets, then no-code tools, then building with AI. That's why this guide assumes nothing and explains the words as it goes.

These days I build apps for clients, and I teach founders and teams to build and look after their own. Nearly all of that work happens in Claude Code. Everything on this site comes from real projects, and when something stops working for me, the guide changes.

How I work, in five lines

  1. Talk the idea through before building anything.
  2. Get mockups until I'd be happy if the app already existed.
  3. Write the docs. They do 99% of the work.
  4. One task per session, tested, with a confidence score.
  5. Audit between phases, and fix what the audit finds before moving on.

The long version is the rest of the site.

History

The guide started as a collaboration between The Low Code Foundation, a French non-profit that promotes accessible software development, and Visual Hive.

Open source

The whole guide is on GitHub. Corrections and suggestions are welcome. If you've found something that works better, I'd like to hear about it.

Work with me

If you'd rather not do it alone, I can help. That might be a look at where you're stuck, getting a first project off the ground properly, or building it for you.

This guide was written with Claude, using the method it describes. Claude did the typing. I did the arguing.
